Participants will:

  • Be able to explain the different student learning outcomes;
  • Have analyzed a course that fits the accountability model
  • Evaluate a program to enable them to develop program outcomes;
  • See the correlation between program learning outcomes and course learning outcomes;
  • Be able to develop a program outcomes model that effectively evaluates learning.

The Central Region Welcomes LISA BREWSTER:

Lisa Brewster is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech Communication at San Diego Miramar College.  Since arriving at Miramar, Lisa has taken on the role of faculty Team Leader for the 21st Century Learning Outcomes Committee.  As the team leader, she has presented numerous workshops and seminars on Learning Outcomes, Student-Centered Learning, and Teaching Outside of the Box.  The 21st Century Learning Outcomes committee was also nominated and received the “Celebrating the Way California’s Learn” award at the CCLC.  Aside from her involvement in the 21st Century Learning Outcomes project, Lisa was also inducted into the “Who’s Who of America’s Top Teachers, the top 5% of all teachers in the United States” in 2002, 2003, and 2004 and was chosen by her college to participate in a National Leadership Program (NILD) 2003.
